Why I Wrote This Piece
Written as part of The Chamber Winds Project to expand conducted chamber winds repertoire through modern instrumentation, including euphonium and percussion alongside traditional brass ensemble colors.

A fine-grained, clayey metamorphic rock that cleaves, or splits, readily into thin slabs having great tensile strength and durability. The direction of cleavage depends upon the direction of the stresses applied during metamorphism.
